Peter Munselle

Prior to the formation of Peter Munselle Architecture and Planning, Munselle was a Principal in the firm of Dorman/Munselle. As both Partner-in-Charge and Designer, he was responsible for the bank and parking structure for People’s First National Bank of Seattle, the Information Center and Tennis/Swim Club at Calabasas, three large apartment projects in Orange County, the Gymnasium/Athletic Complex at Pepperdine University’s Malibu Campus, and the Orange, California Branch of Western Federal Savings.
With Bechtel Corporation from 1965 through 1967, Munselle was instrumental in the managment and implementation of large land development projects, serving as Chief Architect during the planning and design of Westlake Village and was the Design Manager of Calabasas Park in its initial phases.
Before this, as Chief Designer with Charles Luckman Associates, he designed and planned Nostronics Office and Labratory Complex, the Manned Space Flight Center in Houston, a 400 room hotel for Ambassador East, and many other commercial, hotel, and residential projects.
His early experience includes the position of Project Designer with Welton Becket and Associates. He participated in the design of the London Hilton, Bagdad Hilton, Beirut Hilton, and Hawaii Kai Hotels.

The R. Dakin Building, also nicknamed the Luke Skywalker Building, is a work of futurism ahead of its time. Peter Munselle designed this AIA award-winning landmark in 1986, located in Brisbane, California, via the efforts of The Munselle Brown Partnership.
